Mamoiada Trip Overview
We offer you an archaeological and food and wine tour to discover the authentic Sardinian culture: you will visit the archaeological museum of Mamoiada, the most evocative Neolithic sites in the area and conclude the experience with a tasting of typical products and Sardinian wine.
The tour will start at the Mater Museum of Aacheology and the Territory in Mamoiada, where you will undertake a multimedia and interactive visit of the archaeological sites of the area which will serve as an introduction to the subject.
Then you will be guided towards Sa Perda Pintà, a large granite slab also known as the “Stele di Boeli”, the Domus de Janas S’Eredadu, to conclude with the Roman source “Su hantaru vezzu”.

Ancient source already existing in Roman times, also remained almost intact precisely because, at the origins, it was located outside the limits of the inhabited area, which only later would have incorporated it. Over time this spring has quenched all of Mamoiada’s thirst, and has been the center of village life, including chatter, quarrels over water, a meeting place, one of those that are still mentioned today by the elderly.
After the visit to the source, you will head to a typical place of the country where you can delight your palate with a tasting of typical local products and the well-known Sardinian wine Cannonau.
