Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: St. Nicholas Cathedral, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, 96017, Noto, Sicily Italy
The show begins even before entering. The church is in fact placed at the end of a three-flight staircase, which further enhances the beauty of the cathedral.
The facade makes us appreciate the Baroque style made with limestone, which gives the structure an almost golden color. Located between two bell towers, three portals allow you to visit the church that will amaze you with the whiteness of its interior.
The Cathedral Museum, on the other hand, will take you on a journey to discover the history of the structure, from the construction, to the earthquake, to the reconstruction and life of the saints, through sacred art.

Stop At: Chiesa di Montevergine, Via nicolaci, Noto, Sicily Italy
Also known as the Church of San Girolamo, this church has a very particular facade as it is concave. Here too, two bell towers delimit the entrance that leads onto a staircase right in front of Via Nicolaci, from where you have the best view of the church.
The structure currently houses the Museum of Confraternities, dedicated to the confraternities of the city whose history is told through all the exhibits on display.
From the staircase you can admire, every third Sunday in May, the magnificent floral mosaics of the Infiorata festival.

Stop At: Chiesa San Domenico, Piazza XVI Maggio, 96017, Noto, Sicily Italy
Our tour of Noto continues with the Church of San Domenico, the structure that best represents the Baroque in the city. Indeed, his architect decided to include all the typical elements of the Sicilian Baroque, making this church a treasure of architecture not only in Noto, but in all of Sicily.
In the mid-1900s, a crypt was discovered inside, which can still be visited, containing several frescoes dating back to the 1600s and bone remains of the friars. These finds survived the 1693 earthquake together with the church, which did not suffer any damage.

Basilica of the Holy Savior
The Basilica of the Santissimo Salvatore was built starting from 1767 and its facade has a Neoclassical style. The internal decorations began instead in 1794 and represent the transition between the Baroque and Neoclassical styles.
Attached to the Basilica is the Benedictine monastery, which housed the daughters of the nobles to make them become cloistered nuns. From the monastery, the nuns could see the life of the city only through particular windows with wrought iron grates, the so-called “jealousies”. It is in Noto that part of the film “Storia di una capinera”, by Zeffirelli, was shot.
