This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Join your hosts Fabio and Annarella at their farmhouse where you will be greeted with a snack and drink before they take you on a quick tour of their farm. Discover how they grow everything from herbs and tomatoes to fruits and olives in a biodiverse way. After your farm tour, join your hosts in their kitchen to learn to cook an authentic Sicilian, seasonal and mostly farm-to-table meal from recipes that have been passed down through generations of their families. Your hands-on Sicilian cooking class will last about one and a half hours during which you will learn to cook three dishes from scratch. Learn to make traditional Sicilian dishes such as salvia fritta (crisp, fried, sage leaves), a seasonal salad and a main such as pasta al limone. Enjoy learning about the tips and techniques involved in Sicilian cooking before you sit down at the table to share the meal you helped prepare with Fabio and Annarella over wine produced by his father. Your meal may include additional dishes that Fabio has prepared in advance and will conclude with a fruit or nut-based dessert and limoncello.
