We studied this 4-day tour, for lovers of Trekking, Hiking, exploration and nature. You will not have to think about travel and / or car, we will take care of everything, from arrival to the airport until the end of the holiday. This Tour is unique in its kind: you will discover Etna, nature, flora, fauna, geology and all that characterizes the inhabitants of the largest European Volcano, as well as the most active on the planet! We will introduce you to the “Valle del Bove”, a unique place in the world! With the other excursions we will take you to the south-eastern part of Sicily where you can relax in one of the most renowned Sicilian beaches. There will be a visit to Noto, as well as to Catania! We will also have the opportunity to taste some of the most sought after things in Sicily: granita with brioches or the famous Arancino. It will be 4 memorable days!

What to Expect When Visiting Zafferana Etnea, Province of Catania, Italy

Itinerary
Day 1: You will be picked up at the airport and accompanied to the hotel.
Stop At: Catania, Catania, Province of Catania, Sicily
Your arrival is scheduled for 23:00. From the airport we will head to Zafferana for accommodation at the hotel or b & b.

Day 2: Trekking to discover Etna
Stop At: Mount Etna, 95030 Catania, Sicily Italy
08:30 am pick-up from your accommodation.
Destination Etna North.
Once in “Piano Provenzana” we begin with the trek to the Timparossa refuge.
We will cross the wildest area of our “mountain” on well-beaten paths but also on “sciara”.
At the refuge we will have a packed lunch and we will have the opportunity to recharge.
We will continue to discover the button of 2002/2003 (the perfect eruption).
In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to visit a tunnel
of lava flow, perhaps the most famous of Etna,
thanks also to the painting by Jean-Pierre Houël
that at the time of the “Sicilian Grand Tour” of the
European intellectuals and artists, he has it
excellently depicted.

Day 3: Trekking in Vendicari and Noto
Stop At: Riserva di Vendicari, Contrada Vendicari SNC, 96017, Noto, Sicily Italy
08:30 am pick up from the b & b and departure for Vendicari / Noto.
The second oriented nature reserve in Sicily, established in 1984. In this small oasis south of Syracuse there is the largest concentration of European birdlife. Vendicari is a mix of nature, history and archeology. The reserve falls within the territory of Eloro, the first Greek sub-colony of the Corinthians in Sicily. From the oasis you can follow the path from north to south, along the ancient Elorina road which was the link between the colony (Syracuse) and precisely, Eloro. In the reserve there is a stretch of coast of about 2.5 km that is not usable, as an “integral reserve”, this to encourage the nesting of the “Caretta Caretta” and Sterna Albifrons (endangered species). Our entrance will be from the Sveva Tower or from the most suggestive place “La Tonnara”. The path will take us to the famous “Calamosche” beach where you can have a packed lunch and swim. Returning, we will pass by Noto, for an excursion to the city symbol of the “Baroque”!
For this excursion you need: sportswear, sun hat, water, sunscreen, swimsuit and beach towel.

Day 4: Trekking Etna: The valley of the bove
Stop At: Valle Del Bove, 95019 Zafferana Etnea, Sicily Italy
08:30 am departure from the b & b in the direction of the southern slope of Etna.
A trek awaits us that will make us discover the most exciting place of our volcano. We will have a packed lunch, enjoying the most exclusive panorama that Etna has to offer. The return plans to tackle a descent with an important slope, on sand.
Upon returning, a tasting of typical Etnei products awaits us at the oldest and most renowned company in Zafferana, a honey producer.

This city excursion is dedicated to the 1669 eruption, the most important eruption that the “Elephant City” remembers and the discovery of Catania and its mysteries.
During the walk in Catania it will be possible to eat freely in one of the many restaurants.
