Departing from Piazza San Marco, you will journey towards the northern part of the Venetian Lagoon, arriving at the first stop of the day, Murano. Renowned since the 1200s for its exquisite glassmaking, you will have the opportunity to explore the town and watch a live glassblowing demonstration where skilled artisans create stunning vases, glasses, and other forms, demonstrating Murano’s artistic heritage.

After exploring Murano, we will proceed to Burano, best known for its vibrant fishermen’s houses, which legend says were painted in bright colors to be seen in the thick winter fog. As you stroll through the town, you can observe elderly women crafting lace by hand and try the typical local dessert, bussolà.

The island of Murano is famous for its extensive glassmaking heritage. Ferries bring in throngs of visitors keen to visit the Museo del Vetro, which tells the story of glass through the ages, and to buy local artisanal souvenirs. Constructed in Romanesque style, the Church of Santa Maria and San Donato boasts a vibrant mosaic floor and is rumored to contain the bones of a defeated dragon.

Located in the Venetian Lagoon, Burano, similar to its neighbor Venice, seven kilometers to the south, consists of several small islands linked by bridges. Positioned near Torcello at the northernmost part of the lagoon, Burano is famous for its glass art and lace-making craftsmanship.
