Start in Piazza San Marco, home to St. Mark’s Basilica, Doge’s Palace, and St. Mark’s Bell Tower. Before heading inside the church, your guide will begin with an introduction to the history of the Venetian republic.

Stop At: Saint Mark’s Basilica, P.za San Marco, 328, 30124 Venezia VE, Italy
St. Mark’s Basilica will then open just for our tour’s entrance. Upon entering, you will be amazed by the impeccable details of the Byzantine mosaics framing the entrance. The guide will also share stories about Mark the Evangelist, the church’s namesake.
Next, you will head below the church to experience the eerie side of Venetian history. The underground crypts are where St. Mark is buried, among other notable Venetians.
You will end your tour by getting up close with the Basilica’s Golden Altarpiece (Pala d’Oro). During the day, tourists crowd the beautiful piece, but during this exclusive nighttime tour, you will be able to fully appreciate all of the details.
