Palazzo Ca’Dario is famous for its alleged curse: According to legend, its owners, the Dario Family, would be destined to bankrupt or to die of violent death. Because of this, it is known as “the killing palace,” or “the house of no return.”

Fondamenta degli Incurabili, a hospital built for the care of men and women affected by syphilis. At that time, there was no adequate therapy to fight this terrible venereal disease and for this reason the building received the name of the incurables. Now, the building, after a careful restoration, is the headquarters of the Academy of Fine Arts.
