In the mid-eighteenth century, a porticoed axis extends the square, occupying the area of the Roman Forum and qualifying the connection between the Town Hall and Piazza Castello. In the square the ancient functions are reproduced: a centrality that is renewed today with the events for or against the Municipality, with the “Luci d’artista”, with the market of local products.
