The Palatine Hill, one of the seven hills of Rome, is one of the archaeological areas, along with the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, most visited in Italy and in the world. The architectural heritage that can be admired on the site is extensive and rich: imperial palaces and temples of the Roman divinities. An ancient legend tells that Rome itself originated on the Palatine Hill, also confirmed by recent excavations that have brought to light as early as 1000 BC approximately, here there were some houses that formed a village of few hectares.
