Start from Milan (h 7 am), Como (h 8 am), Bellagio (h 8:30 ferry to Varenna), Varenna or Menaggio (h 8:50) or any other town on the route.
Drive to Tirano (about 2 hours) with stops, views and experiences along the Valtellina valley with its vineyards, apples cultivations, castles, churches and food specialties.
In Tirano you take the famous Red Train of Bernina (Bernina Express), journey of 2 hours via the Bernina Pass, a breath-taking journey in the Alps.
