All along the trip you’ll be paddling slightly pushed by the river, watching fishes and birds. Along the banks of the river natural areas we will find small villages, an ancient Roman aqueduct, ancient and newer bridges, some villas and castles. The 10 km paddling downstream are easy for anyone, beginners or expert, the river from Lucca will bring you slowly crossing the villages of Ponte San Pietro, Santa Maria a Colle, Nozzano Castello, until the old destroyed castle of Ripafratta with a small but beautiful waterfall.

Itinerary

The meeting point is in Lucca, at the Foro Boario. Once there you’ll be introduced to the activiy before letting your stuff to our van, than the adventure can start. Wear lifejacket and jump on the supboard, we will be on your side crossing the countryside surrounding Lucca, known as the Lucchesia area and lined with villas, wineries and scene-stealing landscapes, this region is rooted in its ties to the Serchio river.
Lucca’s city area and Foro Boario where the tour starts, than we will cross the River Park all along the city and after in the countryside we will paddle for about 4 km along the Aqueduct of Lorenzo Nottolini, a 19th century water supply source styled like a Roman aqueduct. The tour will end at the Fort of San Paolino looms imposingly over the town of Ripafratta
