Escape the chaos and heat of the centre of Rome and come for a breath of fresh air, breathtaking views and some excellent wines in the prettiest and most unique winery in the Frascati area, undiscovered until now so off the usual tourist track! Visit this ancient, family-owned winery with me and let me tell you all about the winemaking process, the Estate’s history and what makes our area special. A 24-minute train journey avoids traffic and is just €2.10 each way (or €1.50 if you haven’t used the metro on your normal ATAC tickets) from Rome Termini. We meet you at Colle Mattia Station just 5 minutes away and we’ll taste 3 generous glasses of carefully selected and excellent wines in a guided tasting with a qualified, local sommelier. You will have bread and extra virgin olive oil to accompany your wines and some other nibbles too.
Wear comfortable shoes as we shall go down into the ancient caves.
