What to Expect When Visiting Taormina, Sicilia, Italy

Cook a 3-course Sicilian meal at a Restaurant in central Taormina, and then savor the dishes with samples of local wine! The 5-hour cooking class is led by a professional local chef, and includes a visit to Taormina open market to select the freshest ingredients of the day. Learn about Sicily’s varied, fresh and fragrant cuisine that follows the seasons, and learn about classic Sicilian dishes like ‘Parmigiana di melanzane.’

Meeting at the Arch of Porta Messina, the activity starts with a guided tour of the market of Taormina to buy the various fresh ingredients. Back at the restaurant the Chef will explain the recipes in program during a coffee break. The preparation and the cooking of the food will then start. The hand-made pasta represents the highlight of the activity. Once the dishes are prepared, everybody is invited to the table for the typical festivity lunch with the tasting of local wines described by the wine steward. At the end of the activity, each participant will receive a certificate and an autographed apron as a souvenir of this special day.

• Sicilian Caponata – Mixed sauted vegetables with sweet & sour sauce
• Hand-made maccheroni with tomato sauce – Macheroni are freshly hand made by the customers.

Sauce is prepared with fresh tomatoes.
• Fish “alla ghiotta” style – Fish is cooked with tomatoes, garlic and parsley and evenntually capers and olives.
