Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Amalfi Coast, Amalfi Coast, Province of Salerno, Campania

We will drive along the Sorrento and Amalfi Coast where we can have a couple stops to get beautiful pictures. Then we will find ourselves driving down-hill directly through Positano where we will descend down the winding one-way road, passing by many picturesque houses and shops, and ultimately arrive in the heart of the town, at Piazza “dei Mulini”. This is the last point accessible by car, so we will park our car and walk downtown where all the streets lead to the waterfront.

Here we can have about one hour or more to discover this beautiful village denominated “The Jewel of The Amalfi Coast”.

Positano has beautiful things to see: the cathedral, ceramic shops, lemons, hand-made shoes and, of course, “Positano fashion”.

After your time in Positano, we will continue our drive along the Amalfi coast with the next stop being the town for which the area is name, Amalfi.

In front of the port of Amalfi, there is the one and only bus station along the coast and the shopping area lies just behind this. If you would like to steep yourself in Amalfi’s history there are some interesting sights to explore. Two of the most spectacular are the cathedral situated along the coast and the paper mill museum. Behind this square lies the main shopping street of Amalfi, that terminates at the furthest and highest point of the town. Along the pedestrian street are various bars and cafés, not to mention the many shops selling limoncello, casual clothing, swimwear, gifts, basic groceries, and of course, ceramics.

We will then take a meandering, relaxing drive uphill along a very narrow road passing several wineries and olive factories which will lead us to Ravello. This rural village is completely unspoilt by tourism, perched on top of the mountain cliff situated above Amalfi and Minori. Ravello is famous for its breath-taking views, natural beauty and ancient monuments which are seen at their very best in the stunning gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. In high season, these gardens are rich in the heady perfume of blooming flowers, flora and the sharp, sweet scent of lemons. Ravello is also denominated THE CITY OF THE MUSIC, as it was here that Richard Wagner composed his opera Parsifal. There are many classical concerts held in the gardens of Villa Rufolo.

After this, our last site of the day, we will drive back to your accommodation where you can reminisce about your incredible day along one of the most famous coastlines in the world!

Duration: 8 minutes

Stop At: Pompeii Archaeological Park, Porta Marina (via Villa dei Misteri), 80045 Pompeii Italy

The day will start with a drive by the Sorrento Coast. After about a 45 minute drive, we’ll arrive at the ruins of Pompeii, the first stop on this breathtaking day tour where you will have the opportunity to see one of the most important archeological sites in the world!

Pompeii was part of an ancient Roman city destroyed and buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Either licensed guides can be arranged ahead of time (additional cost) or you can visit the site on your own. However you choose to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will be in awe as you see the remnants of this 1st century city which offer some insight into the Roman life that came to a premature stop there on 24 August AD 79.
After this amazing historical experience you can choose to continue our tour to Herculaneum or visit a local family Winery located at the foot of Mt.Vesuvius

Duration: 7 minutes

Stop At: Paestum, Paestum, Capaccio-Paestum, Province of Salerno, Campania

This is a fantastic trip back in time to ancient Greece. A two-hour drive south of Amalfi brings you to Paestum, founded by the Greeks in the 7th century BC. Originally named Poseidon, Paestum was later occupied by the Lucanians until in 273 BC, when Rome made it a thriving colony and gave it its current name. Culturally, the importance of Paestum is due the beauty of its temples and excellent state of their preservation and in a natural and serene countryside setting.

Three majestic Doric style temples in the valley reflect different lights and shadows depending on the hours and seasons. Many writers, poets and artists like Goethe, Shelley, Canova and Piranesi, were fascinated by this spectacular view and used the site as a source of inspiration. The 6th century BC Temple of Hera is the oldest. The warm golden colored Temple of Neptune dates the 5th century BC.

The Temple of Ceres, 6th century BC, actually dedicated to the goddess Athena, was transformed to a church and houses during the middle ages.

After exploring this amazing archaeological site our journey continues to one of the area’s largest and most famous Buffalo Mozzarella dairy Farms of the area. A private visit to the farm allows you to learn about the very special process involved in this cheese production. The visit would not be complete without several very fresh tastings of the world famous, delicious mozzarella cheese, originating in Italy, and specific to this southern area.

Duration: 8 minutes

Stop At: Naples, Naples, Province of Naples, Campania

This tour offers you a unique experience in the history, culture, and local tastes and traditions of one of the most famous cities of all of Europe.

Naples is a gem, a city of art in the truest sense of the word. Art seems to spring up spontaneously from the fertile earth, producing wonders in every area of Naples, from paintings, to music, to poetry, to the local flavors, architecture, theater and dance. The roads are full of splendid and grandiose monuments, churches, sunny piazzas and most importantly – of warm and gracious Neapolitan people that make Naples what it is – a colorful, vibrant city, perpetuating a spirit, culture and inimitable way of life. While in Naples some of the most important visits are to the San Carlo Theater, the Maschio Angioino Castle. In Naples the are also several museums, the most famous being the Archaeological National Museum where you can also find many artifacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum’s archaeological sites.

Last but not least, Naples is the city of Pizza. You simply can’t leave bella Napoli without having tasted the famous Margherita Pizza.
