The Bagni della Regina Giovanna are located on the promontory of Punta Capo in Sorrento, to be precise they are located on the coast of the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella. It is a magnificent natural swimming pool a few steps from the center of Sorrento, a small natural oasis. The Baths are located near the villa of Pollio Felice, a Roman patrician of the 1st century BC. The Villa was immense, consisting of about 30,000 square meters, but unfortunately today it is possible to admire only the ruins. The poet Orazio and the poet Stazio also narrated the magnificence of the villa. The name of the Baths derives from Queen Giovanna II of Anjou-Durazzo. In fact, it is said that in the period from 1371 to 1435 the queen loved to spend the summer in Sorrento and that she spent her time with her lovers right in the waters of the Capo di Sorrento.

Cala di Mitigliano is an inlet between Punta Baccoli and, further west, Fossa Papa. The tiny pebble beach is one of the most pleasant of those enclosed in the Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area. To the east of the latter there is a tower-shaped construction with a circular base: perhaps used in the past, when the quarry was in operation. The main attraction of the cove remains, however, the Mitigliano cave, which overlooks the island of Capri. The ravine, formed thanks to a source of fresh water, is a strong attraction for those who wish to immerse themselves in crystal clear waters.

The only cove at the end of the Sorrento peninsula, it has fueled myths and legends between the silvery green of the olive trees and the crystalline blue of the bay, between the landscape of the stacks it overlooks and the traces of a recent industrial past. It was in fact donated to FAI by Italsider in 1987.
Right in front of the stacks of Capri, the Bay of Ieranto opens into a natural setting of such wonder that even the Sirens chose it as their home. According to Pliny the Elder, it was exactly here that Ulysses met them, during his return to Ithaca as told by Homer in the Odyssey.

it is the junction between the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast, a strip of land that stretches out over the Mediterranean and which once seemed to be connected with the Island of Capri.
Punta Campanella is a territory of history and legends: according to the Odyssey here Ulysses met the enchanting Sirens, the Greeks erected a temple to the goddess Athena, then converted by the Romans to the cult of the goddess Minerva. In 1300 a tower was built here which had the purpose of sighting and sounding the alarm in case of raids by the Saracens coming from the sea. A bell was placed on the top of the tower which rang in case of alarm, propagating the signal to the other towers positioned along the coast.

Marina del Cantone overlooks the Gulf of Salerno and is located between the bay of Ieranto and Recommone. It is renowned for its pebble beaches and clear waters. It is the ideal place for those who want to indulge in a typical lunch in one of its many restaurants on the water. In fact, it is said that the famous recipe for pasta alla nerano was born here, from the proper name of the municipality that hosts this locality, precisely Nerano.

Recommone beach is located in an inlet between the Marina del Cantone and the Crapolla fjord. The beach, about 65 meters long, is the backdrop to a fairytale setting that frames the entire bay, which is why it is also called Conca del Sogno.

Stop At: Fiordo di Crapolla, Penisola Sorrentina, Italy
Crapolla is the seaside resort of the town of Torca. It seems that the toponym Crapolla derives from a temple dedicated to Apollo located in the place that was later used to build a Roman villa or temple, and in medieval times an abbey today reduced to a small chapel. The small pebble beach is located at the end of a fjord and is almost invisible from the sea. Today the place is uninhabited but until a few years ago the marina was still frequented by fishermen who, along about 700 steps, descended from Torca to support their families.
At the beginning of its foundation, the abbey of San Pietro was ruled by Benedictines Neri and we have the first certain news from the year 1111. It is described as one of the most beautiful, rich and important of the time. According to tradition, St. Peter landed in Crapolla on his journey to Rome.

The Li Galli islands, off the coast of Positano and not far from Capri, are a mythical and inaccessible place, which enchants with its wild beauty and its millenary and fascinating history. The Li Galli archipelago consists of three islets, Gallo Lungo, La Rotonda and Isola Dei Briganti (so called because it was frequented in the past by pirate ships, but also known as La Castelluccia), which stand out in the waters off Positano ‘, south of the Sorrento Peninsula and not far from Capri. Having changed hands between different owners over the last few decades, the islands are currently privately owned.
Here, on the banks of “Il Gallo Lungo” we will make our third stop for an inevitable swim in these celestial waters, however relaxing with the on-board equipment and enjoying fresh fruit, limoncello produced in an artisanal way and prosecco for a last toast. to the past day.
