What makes Genoni Guided Tour in Giara Park a unique experience ?

The PARC museum is divided into three thematic sections that offer an engaging and educational experience:
Palaeontological Section:
Displays a rich collection of fossils from the area, offering a fascinating glimpse into the geological history and prehistoric artefacts that tell the story of the evolution of life in the region. –
Archaeological Section: Here, visitors can admire a faithful reproduction of a Nuragic Well, illustrating the engineering and construction techniques used by ancient Nuragic civilisations, providing an immersion into the millenary history of Sardinia.
Educational Section: Designed for schools and families, this area offers an interactive laboratory where the youngest children can learn through hands-on activities and educational games, delving into history and science in a fun and stimulating way. Each section is designed to offer a complete and accessible experience, combining scientific and archaeological discoveries with playful activities.

The Museo del Cavallino della Giara (Museum of the Giara Horse) in Genoni preserves the historical and cultural testimonies of the village, linked to the collective memory and the figure of the Giara horse, symbol of the territory. Through Alessio Orrù’s images and Sergio Scavio’s documentary, the museum recounts life on the plateau, exploring the flora, fauna and the relationship between man and horse. Interviews with the population, transformed into illustrations by artist Pia Valentinis, enrich the exhibition.

The Giara park is famous for its 44 km² basalt plateau and the Cavallini della Giara, small wild horses that live free, lending a unique charm to the landscape. More than 600 little horses are counted as living in the park. The park extends over Genoni, Gesturi, Tuili and Setzu, offering paths through forests and meadows, perfect for excursions to discover the local flora and fauna. The Giara, formed millions of years ago by volcanic eruptions, preserves traces of Nuragic settlements and nuraghi, making this place an interweaving of natural beauty and millennial history.
