What makes Boat tour of San Pietro Island a unique experience ?
At around 10:00 we cast off the moorings and sail towards Piana island for a swimming break. Once home to the historic Ligurian tuna fishery, Isola Piana is currently inhabited by some privileged owners of the old fishermen’s homes. After about an hour’s stop we proceed sailing along the northern coast of the island, passing the stretch of sea where the traditional Carloforte tuna trap is lowered during the fishing season. After a quick visit to the Punta delle Oche cave, we sail towards Nasca/Calavinagra for a prolonged stop. . Swimming in the turquoise waters you can reach the natural pools or the ruins of the old tuna fishery of Calavinagra. Around 1pm lunch is served with local specialties and in the afternoon we proceed towards the Capo Sandalo lighthouse where the Queen’s falcon nests.
