What to Expect When Visiting San Giovanni la Punta, Province of Catania, Italy

A simple but unique activity to get to know with me the geological and naturalistic aspects of the Etna volcano. A breathtaking, almost lunar landscape, to admire the old extinct craters of the volcano and the Gulf of Catania. A unique experience, that of entering and safely exploring a volcanic cave!

Itinerary

You will know the charm and energy that only an active volcano like Etna is able to transmit!
From the meeting point, we will move up to an altitude of 2000m (South Etna). We will walk around the Silvestri Craters, now extinct craters where you will see ancient lava flows and almost lunar landscapes. I will explain to you the history and the formation of the volcano and you will know all the naturalistic aspects of Etna.
In front of us a breathtaking landscape, we will see the Gulf of Catania and all the ancient extinct craters of the volcano. We will stop to relax for a while. After we will move again by car to reach the entrance of a volcanic cave. We will enter with helmets and torches to discover the geological secrets of the Etna volcano and its caves !! Finally we will return to the meeting place.
