Working in this family-owned, Michelin star restaurant for many years taught Francesca everything there is to know about ingredients, cooking techniques, plating, serving and hosting. Francesca says she loves hosting people from all over the world, “I’m really curious to understand the different ways of living, eating, and thinking.”

Itinerary

This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Join your host Francesca at her home in Rubiera, a town right outside of Modena (a 7-min train ride away) for an authentic four-course regional Italian meal prepared by this former Michelin-star chef. Enjoy your meal over wine. Your menu will include an appetizer, a pasta such as tortellini, little raviolis in the shape of a ring stuffed with hearty meat or tagliatelle al ragu (long, flat ribbon pasta from the Emilia-Romagna region in a meat and tomato sauce), a secondi like duck or chicken in a Bolognese sauce and a vegetable side. Your meal concludes with bensone (a traditional cake from Modena) and walnut liquor. Francesca is excited to meet new people and share her passion for traditional home-cooked food and local traditions. Please note that on most days Francesca will host alone, but occasionally her husband, Thomas and her mother, Franca might be present.
