What makes Rome City Tour w Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Navona and more! a unique experience ?
Visit one of the most visited squares in Rome, in the heart of the city and the shopping district, to see the Baroque style Spanish Steps. Walk up the 135 stairs and get a view over the piazza and the neighbourhood.
Marvel at the magnificent Baroque fountain, one of the most famous fountains in the world designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi. At 26 meters high and 49 meters wide, it also is the largest fountain in the city. Be sure to throw a coin into it to ensure your return to Rome.
Step inside the best-preserved ancient building in the city of Rome, the Pantheon, built by Emperor Hadrian. Marvel at the large domed ceiling, which was the largest of its time. Previously a temple, it has now been a church since the 7th Century.
Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, otherwise known as the Fountain of Four Rivers is the centrepiece of Piazza Navona. Designed by Bernini, one of the greatest sculptors and built in the 17th Century. The statue symbolizes the world’s 4 great rivers: the River Nile, the Ganges, the Danube and the Rio de la Plata. A 16 meter tall obelisk stands atop.
In Piazza Navona, the magnificent square that was built on the former sporting Stadium of Domitian you’ll see a trio of fountains that adorn the square. The grand centrepiece is Bernini’s ‘Fountain of the Four Rivers’ which can be identified by the Egyptian Obelisk standing atop. This square is an outdoor museum which will leave you in awe.
Just south of Piazza Navona is another beautiful square, Campo de’ Fiori, which was once literally a field of flowers until it was paved in 1456. Today it is a vibrant market during the day where you can find fruit, vegetables and flowers. The square was known for its public executions and to commemorate the Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno who was burnt to the stake here in 1600, there’s a large statue in his honor.
