Departing from your hotel in Rome, you will arrive in Sabaudia in just about a little over an hour’s drive south of Rome.
Sabaudia boasts gorgeous sand and turquoise water, but it’s way less crowded than other beaches.
You will have free time to swim, take a walk and enjoy the refreshing sea air. You can also rent there beach chairs and umbrella if you need one.
There are also some local bars and restaurants in the area that suit any apetite – from fresh local dish to simple pasta salad and sandwich.
From the beach, you also have a nice view of of the defensive tower, the Torre Paola – built in 1563, under the orders of Pope Pius IV, who was concerned by the frequent attacks by Saracen invaders during those years.
Sabaudia’s also close to the pretty beach town of San Felice Circeo, just 30 minutes away by car.
To avoid traffic, we suggest to leave Rome early (around 7:30 am). The duration of the trip is about 9/10 hours total including driving times.
We recommend bringing your own beach towel, bathing suit and sun protection.
