Smallest of the 13 ancient Egyptian Obelisk, it is an elephant carrying the obelisk. The statue is designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and unveiled in 1667.

In the center of the piazza there is Fontana del Pantheon, surmounted by an Egyptian obelisk. The fountain was constructed in 1575, and the obelisk was added to it in 1711.

The Pantheon; a former Roman temple and since 609 a Catholic church (Basilica di Santa Maria ad Martyres or Basilica of St. Mary and the Martyrs). Earlier temple commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus and was rebuilt by the emperor Hadrian.
