The Temple of Venus and Roma is considered one the largest temples in Ancient Rome. It was built in 135 AD during the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian and was dedicated to the goddesses Venus Felix (“Venus the Bringer of Good Fortune”) and Roma Aeterna (“Eternal Rome”).
The Forum of Caesar was built by Julius Caesar as an extension of the ancient Roman Forum in 46 BC. There you will see the ancient ruins of the Temple of Caesar, the Temple of Venus Genetrix, Basilica Argentaria, Altar of Caesar and more.
The Rostra was the platform from which orators spoke to the assembled people in the Ancient Rome. The construction was projected by Caesar but finished only in 42 BC by the Emperor Augustus.
The Basilica Julia was built on the site of the earlier Basilica Sempronia along the south side of the Roman Forum. It was founded in 46 BC by Julius Caesar and then completed by the Emperor Augustus, who named the building after his adoptive father.
The Largo di Torre Argentina, is the exact spot where Julius Caesar was murdered by members of the Roman Senate in 44 BC.
