Stop At: Villa Adriana, Largo Marguerite Yourcenar 1, 00019, Tivoli Italy

Villa Adriana
The first stop can be Villa Adriana, it was a complex of over thirty buildings constructed during the second and third decades of the II A.D. by the Emperor Hadrian. He enjoyed very much the villa and for many years he governed the empire from this retreat.
For many decades, the villa was used as a residence and center of government by his successors. Ippolito II took many of his statues and marble stones to grace the grounds of his own villa.
The next stop will be Villa d’Este built in 1550 as summer residence by Cardinal Ippolito II d’Este, the son of the famous Lucrezia Borgia.
