In addition to the most famous Colosseum you will visit the ruins of the Roman Forum and the Caesar Palace where emperors commissioned an imposing building where they lived until the decline of the Western Roman Empire. The largest monumental area in the world where for 13 centuries the Roman emperors and the aristocracy built Basilicas, Temples and Arches whose ruins are still visible.
You will finish your private tour (approx.11:30AM) to Piazza Venezia, the geographical center of Rome where your guide will show you where you can stop for lunch or where you can take the taxi to go back to your hotel. At the end of the tour you will pay the tickets cash directly to your guide.

The Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is an oval amphitheatre. Built of travertine limestone, tuff, and brick-faced concrete, it was the largest amphitheatre ever built at the time and held 50,000 spectators. It’s situated just east of the Roman Forum. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in AD 72 and was completed in AD 80 under his successor and heir, Titus.Further modifications were made during the reign of Domitian (81–96). These three emperors are known as the Flavian dynasty, and the amphitheatre was named in Latin for its association with their family name (Flavius).
