The Flavian Amphitheatre, better known as the Colosseum or Coliseum, is an oval amphitheatre in the heart of Rome, Italy. It was the largest amphitheatre ever erected at the time, holding 50,000 to 80,000 spectators and was made of travertine limestone, tuff, and brick-faced concrete.
