The Tour starts from the Capitol square restructured by Michelangelo in16C. Overlooking Rome, in its centre is the second century BC bronze Statue to Marcus Aurelius. Its original can be seen in the Capitoline Museums as your guide will explain. Descending towards the Roman Forum you will pass the Lapidarium, Roman tax office and later a prison. Crossing Via dei Fori Imperiali you will visit the Trajan Markets and Column. This is one of the most impressive sights of a Forum, the last Forum built around 110AD by Emperor Trajan, finished by Emperor Hadrian to glorify Trajan - the greatest leader of the Roman Army. Carved around the Great Column are the victories of Trajan. Enter then the Roman Forum, its arches, streets and buildings proceeding to the Palatine.
