Itinerary

The daily Trek to Tiscali is absolutely one of the most appreciated trekkings in Sardinia. In the Lanaitho valley is the Monte Tiscali which wards a priceless treasure, you can discover it with this nice excursion.Inside a beautiful doline you can find the ruins of an ancient village. The doline you see today was a cave in the past, its roof collapsed 900.000 years ago. Might the ancient Sardinians have settled in such a rough and isolated area to escape from the people coming from the sea?

The tiscali mountain is not only important because of the nuragic village but also because of the rare species of trees living there ; sometimes the agile moufflons frequent the doline by night and often the weasel comes looking for food. This trekking is very nice, you start in the lush woods then, surrounded by the karstic landscape you walk on the paths excavated by the charcoal burners in the XIX century. Afterwards the trekking to Tiscali passes through a narrow cleft and offers a great view on the Lanaitto valley and the Mount Corrasi range.
