Napoli Trip Overview
During our tour in the footsteps of Caravaggio , we will discover the life of this Schoolmaster who lived in Naples for 18 months, his relationships with the local art scene by going through the faces and places that inspired him. The tour will start from Piazza del Gesù, where in the seventeenth century worked the most significant Neapolitan artists ,like Luca Giordano. You will pass to the Church of San Domenico Maggiore, for which Caravaggio painted “La Flagellation” now preserved at Capodimonte Museum and which preserves also a copy of the master’s painting by Andrea Vaccaro. Finally you will go to discover the Pio the Monte della Misericordia , where you could admire the Seven works of Mercy that Caravaggio created for the foundation. The tour will proceed in the Picture Gallery.
