Last, but only for its position on the map, is Ravello. Known as the “city of music” and often appreciated for its romantic atmosphere, Ravello is situated in a wonderful panoramic position, perched on one of the slopes of the Lattari Mountains. A destination for tourists since time immemorial, its first settlement is of Roman origins (probably founded by dissident Amalfi patricians), Ravello boasts two of the most enchanting gardens in Campania such as Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. The Ravello Festival is held every year in Villa Rufolo, a prestigious classical music festival in honor of Richard Wagner with its characteristic stage overlooking the sea. The village, the religious architecture – above all the church of San Pantaleone, erected in Piazza Duomo, which houses the relics of the Saint – the charm of the gardens and landscapes, the villas and the air full of culture make Ravello one of a kind. The remaining time of the tour will be spent traveling between attractions.
