Piazza del Municipio (formerly Largo del Castello) is a square in Naples, one of the largest in Europe and one of the most important in the city thanks to the proximity of the Maschio Angioino and the presence of the port on site.

Castel Nuovo, or more commonly Maschio Angioino (also Mastio Angioino), is a historic medieval and Renaissance castle, as well as one of the symbols of the city of Naples. The castle dominates the scenic Piazza Municipio.

Piazza Trieste e Trento (formerly Piazza San Ferdinando) is located in the historic center of Naples.
A road junction of great importance, via Toledo, via Chiaia and via San Carlo converge here; it is also the main access point to the nearby, and much more famous, Piazza del Plebiscito.

The Real Teatro di San Carlo (also known as Teatro San Carlo, or simply San Carlo) is the opera house of Naples, among the most famous and prestigious in the world.
Founded in 1737, it is the oldest opera theater in the world still active, the first Italian theater to establish a dance school; it anticipates the Teatro alla Scala in Milan by 41 years.

Piazza del Plebiscito (formerly Largo di Palazzo or Foro Regio) is a square in Naples located at the end of Via Toledo, just after passing Piazza Trieste e Trento.
Located in the historic centre, between the seafront and Via Toledo, with a surface area of approximately 25,000 square metres, the square is one of the largest in the city and in Italy and for this reason it is the most used for large events.

The royal pontifical basilica of San Francesco di Paola is a minor basilica in Naples, located in Piazza del Plebiscito, in the historic center; it is considered one of the most important examples of neoclassical architecture in Italy.

The Royal Palace of Naples is a historic building located in Piazza del Plebiscito, in the historic center of Naples, where the main entrance is located: the entire complex, including the gardens and the San Carlo theatre, also overlooks Piazza Trieste and Trento, Piazza del Municipio and via Acton.
The Royal Palace was built starting in 1600 and was the residence of the Spanish, then Austrian and Bourbon dynasty viceroys.

The Umberto I gallery is a commercial gallery built in Naples between 1887 and 1890. It is dedicated to Umberto I of Italy, as a tribute to the King and in memory of his generous presence during the cholera epidemic of 1884, which showed the the need for a “Redevelopment” of the city.

Via Chiaia is a street in the historic center of Naples, half belonging to the San Ferdinando district and half to the Chiaia district. The street starts from Piazza Trieste e Trento, near Piazza del Plebiscito and Via Toledo, and ends in Piazza dei Martiri, near the Riviera di Chiaia.

Via Toledo is one of the main arteries of Naples and is approximately 1.2 km long. The street starts from Piazza Dante and ends in Piazza Trieste e Trento. Other arteries of notable importance, squares, churches and noble palaces branch off in the sequence of the road.

The lively Quartieri Spagnoli is a commercial area flanked by Via Toledo, a partially pedestrian street full of traditional fashion and designer shops. Nearby there are trattorias and stalls selling fried pizza, as well as numerous churches such as the sixteenth-century Santa Maria della Mercede in Montecalvario. The area also houses the entrance to Underground Naples, a network of tunnels and catacombs and where the mural dedicated to Maradona is located.

The picturesque Pignasecca market is located in the Quartieri Spagnoli area of Naples, behind the equally lively and central Via Toledo.

The Pignasecca, as well as the oldest market in Naples, allows the visitor to admire a very evocative and folkloristic cross-section of the Neapolitan city where displays of fish, fruit, vegetables, fried foods and typical sweets to be eaten in the street are flanked by stalls of all kinds, with clothing, accessories and music CDs, at very affordable prices.
