From the meeting point, Bar Cafenzo, visitors reach, with their cars, the rock village of Petruscio. It is a real ghost town. The village was excavated in the homonymous gorge in the Middle Ages and was later abandoned by its own inhabitants. The rock village of Petruscio was excavated on multiple levels or residential floors, so it appears as a set of buildings carved directly into the rock. We will admire the breathtaking panorama of the ravine and its cave dwellings from above to totally immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of its time: the Middle Ages. The guide, at its discretion, reserves the right to take passengers to the south, or to take a look from above, depending on the weather conditions and the physical condition of the travelers.

Stop At: Church of Our Lady of the Carmel, Mottola, SP28, 74017 Mottola TA, Italy

We will visit this delightful medieval rupestrian church, carved out of the rock, and became, starting from the XVIth century, a place of pilgrimage, by devotees from neighboring countries, especially young people. The faithful here pray to request thanks to the Madonna, who appeared in a dream to a priest in this sacred place at the beginning of the 16th century.

Stop At: Via Madonna delle 7 Lampade, 74017 Mottola TA, Italy

Here we will visit a pretty medieval rupestrian church, buried and then brought to light in the 19th century. from some local farmers. They turned it into a sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna of the 7 Lamps. The church is still frequented by faithful who go there to pray and to ask for thanks to the Virgin Mary.
