Monte Sibilla, Monti Sibillini trek

Montemonaco Trip Overview

The ascent to Mount Sibilla is not an excursion like the others: it is a journey in the past, to roots, along a path that links history and legend, more ancient than ever.

We will walk on the Mount Zampa ridge, with the Vettore and the valley of Lake Pilato on one side and the vertiginous view on the Gorge of Infernaccio on the other. Of course we will stop at the Cave of Sibilla, already a place of worship in the Piceni and a destination in the Middle Ages of adventurers, knights and necromancers and we will conquer the peak at an altitude of 2173 mt which gives its name to the Sibillini chain.

It is not an excursion too demanding, but a workout and a habit of walking are required.
