What makes Lost in luxury: the wonders of Milanese fashion district a unique experience ?

The “Galleria”, as Milanese citizens usually address this place, could be considered one of the very first malls in the world and an outstanding example of iron architecture of the late 19th century. It hosts historical boutiques and cafeterias and has always acted as a gathering place for artists and intellectuals.

Considered as one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world, the Theatre was built between 1776 and 1778, under the government of Mary Therese of Austria. The great composer Giuseppe Verdi made his debut here in 1839 and after a few years, in 1842, performed for the first time his “Nabucco”, which made the Teatro alla Scala one of the symbols of Italian Risorgimento.

One of the most ancient streets of Milan, born following the plan of the pristine Roman walls. Its reputation has grown since the 19th century, when it became the centre of luxury and excellence crafts in the town centre. Nowadays, it hosts the flagship stores of the most important fashion brands in the world. Together with Via della Spiga, Via Sant’Andrea and Via Pietro Verri, Via Montenapoleone draws the so-called “Fashion Quadrangle”.

The palace, whose construction started in the 16th century, has been donated to the Municipality of Milan in 1945, by the former owners.
Today it hosts the “Museo di Milano” a collection of paintings, sculptures and prints related to the city history, together with the “Collezione Costume Moda Immagine”: the latter displays a selection of Italian costumes and garments, from the 17th to the 21st century.
