But it was love that kept her in Italy and it was her husband Luca who made her appreciate the country’s incredible food. Infinitely curious about food, Luca delights in using heritage ingredients and old cooking techniques (mostly his grandmother’s) wherever possible. His fresh handmade pastas use the highest quality traditional grains and flours, and his meals feature the best quality seasonal ingredients they find. Marielle and Luca are so passionate about food they decided to create their own home restaurant to serve travelers and guests the Italian food that they love so deeply.

Itinerary
This is a unique opportunity to visit a home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Join your host Marielle and her husband Luca (and their 17-year old daughter when she is home from studies!) in their villa home, located about 15 minutes from downtown Milan, and beautifully decorated in the art deco style with many modern art objects. Your experience will start in their living room with a welcome glass of wine and some snacks of fresh vegetables. Then head to their veranda in the garden where you will enjoy a first course of a selection of three homemade pastas. Luca loves using forgotten grains and ingredients so your pastas will feature the best of some of Italy’s heritage flours and grains. Once you’ve enjoyed your pasta course, enjoy a traditional Italian main of a fresh fish or meat dish served with a seasonal vegetable side such as artichoke or zucchini. Wine and water will also be served during your experience. End your meal with a sweet dessert such as balsamic vinegar ice cream, with fresh ice cream made in Marielle and Luca’s kitchen and drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar at the table. Your dessert will be served with a selection of coffee and tea.
