What to Expect When Visiting Massa Lubrense, Campania, Italy

The song of the Sirens, together with the rustling of the trees and the waves breaking on the rock, will go with us during this 8 km ring tour to discover hidden corners of the Sorrento Peninsula.

Itinerary

We are in Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, so called because from here you may see the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno. The best place where you may admire the two bays is the Sirenuse trail, a spectacular ring-route between terraces, valleys and cliffs that runa long the sea on the first tract of the Amalfi Coast.

The path winds through the country lanes where an ancient wash-house with two stone basins is hidden, where the local people still continue to wash their clothes. Walking further, you come to a flowery dirt path that runs along the sea from above.

An easy walk up to the Pizzitiello climb, a promontory on the top of cliffs of Punta Sant’Elia. This is a steep climb that reaches an altitude of 489 meters and ends on a meadow overlooking a beautiful landscape: the view is lost between Praiano and Capri and, if the weather is favorable, it i salso possible to see Punta Licosa. From here, it almost seems to look into the eyes of the mythical Sirenuse that are only 2,800 meters away.

From the blue of the sea and the sky to the many shades of the green of the Mediterranean vegetation, the view is lost among vegetable gardens, olive groves, chestnut groves and oak trees.
