The oldest Phoenician colony in Sicily, an archaeological area of great charm and absolutely intact. Immersed in the lagoon of the stagnone, it was founded by the Phoenicians in the eighth century BC. and then destroyed by the Greeks of the Syracusan tyrant Dionysius in 397 BC.
