Lecce: E-Bike tour to Galatina with old olive mill & wine taste

In Galatina we visit one of the most beautiful Basilicas of Puglia (Basilica di Santa Caterina d’Alessandria). Here the Opportunity to have Wine taste of Primitivo Wine OR a Traditional Puglian Lunch (ONLY IF IS A PRIVATE GROUP AND REQUESTED ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE).
Finally you experience a small local train for the way back to lecce (50 mins ride).

After one hour bike ride (17km) through the Lecce countryside sorrounded by Olive trees and magestic Masserias you are welcome to Sternatia!
Sternatia is one of the nine towns of “Grecìa Salentina” where the greek dialect Griko is spoken.
Here we will have a guided tour (20 mins) of an ancient Olive oil mill (Frantoio Ipogeo).
After the visit we do a Bar STOP (30 Mins) where you can try the traditional Caffe Leccese and the famous Pasticciotto.

After 30 mins bike ride (9 km) you are welcome in Corigliano D’otranto. This town is another of the nine Towns of the “Salentine Greece” . This area is inhabited by the Griko people, an ethnic Greek minority that preserves the ancient Greek language and culture.

Here we visit the medieval castle (1519) of the Monti’s family. A mix of military and feudal architecture sorraunded by beautiful Renaissance round medieval towers.

After 30 mins bike (9km) ride welcome to Galatina!

Here we visit at “The Basilica di Santa Caterina d’Alessandria” which is a real treasure of art and ancient times, This chruch safeguards magnificent frescoes and merges together different architectural styles- from the Roman, to the Gothic, to the Norman and Byzantine style.

After we have either lunch in a traditional restaurant OR a wine taste and aperitvo finger food at the Wine cellar.
After the traditional puglian lunch and primitivo wine we take the TRAIN from galatina back to lecce (1 hour TRAIN ride)
