Visit: Galleria Palatina in Palazzo Pitti, Amici di Palazzo Pitti Piazza Pitti 1, 50125, Florence Italy
The Palatine Gallery is a museum inside Palazzo Pitti, it is the picture gallery of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany, among the most relevant names we find a representation of some of the works by Raphael, Titian and Rubens, in fact the layout respects the taste of past centuries, with the paintings placed on several rows, selected for decorative criteria, and not for period and schools. Chronologically, with a few exceptions, the paintings mainly cover the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, making it one of the most important museums of its kind in Italy, as well as an obligatory stop for the knowledge of the history of European collecting. Beyond the picture gallery, to admire the whole cycle of frescoes on the ceilings, a whole sequence of mythological hero stories always making allusion to the Grand Prince of the Medici. Inside the Palatine Gallery you can breathe beauty wherever we look!
