Firstly, you will visit the Basilica of San Lorenzo, the parish of the Medici and the first cathedral of Florence. The tour continues with the visit of the Medici Chapels, burial place of the whole family. Inside there are several rooms, including the famous Chapel of the Princes where six Grand Dukes of the family are buried. This mausoleum is an example of the Florentine baroque style and the great dome, designed by Buontalenti, shows the grandeur of the Medici. The New Sacristy, designed and built by Michelangelo, host the sarcophagis’ statues created by him, among which La Notte is considered one of Michelangelo’s most beautiful works.
