Escape the crowds like a Medici via the secret hallways of the Vasari Corridor – Built-in 1565the Vasari Corridor makes for an interesting Florentine experience. If you take the Vasari Corridor, the end will let you out on the other side of the river Arno, in the Oltrarno neighborhood of Florence. This is a quieter part of the tourist-heavy city. Later you can take a tour of the labyrinthine streets around Palazzo Pitti. Here you can find a wealth of tiny artisan shops, from shoemakers, goldsmiths, and leather bookbinders, to shops for ceramics and inlaid stones.

Day 2: Florence

Stop At: Florence, Metropolitan City of Florence, Italy
Best of Renaissance and Medieval Florence Guided Walking Tour – The guided walking tour starts from the famous San Lorenzo Central market area, which surrounds the Medici Chapels and the Basilica of San Lorenzo – the church of the Medici family where we visit the elegant cloister, designed by Brunelleschi. We turn into Piazza del Duomo, where the triumphant bulk of the Cathedral greets our eyes with its Dome by Brunelleschi, the Bell Tower by Giotto and the Baptistery of St. John with its Gates of Paradise. Then we proceed to the picturesque Mercato della Paglia (Straw Market), where is the famous Fontana del Porcellino. See the Piazza della Signoria & the imposing Palazzo Vecchio. Next to it the Uffizi Gallery. Walking along the Arno River you will pass through the Ponte Vecchio, the famous “jewels bridge”, reach the wonderful Pitti Palace. Also, find the beautiful Badia Fiorentina and the austere Bargello Palace, end the tour in the elegant Piazza della Repubblica.

Day 3: Florence

Stop At: San Gimignano, San Gimignano, Tuscany
San Gimignano, Siena, Monteriggioni, and Chianti with Wines and Food Tasting – Stop at San Gimignano, a small and walled town located on a hilltop, head to the historical center, the local guide will take us on a comprehensive guided tour starting from its most beautiful square, Piazza del Campo, of which the Palazzo Pubblico (Town Hall) is the focal point and a pleasant walk through the narrow medieval streets of the city, flanked by splendid palaces and historic shops, until we reach the Museum and Oratory of a Palio’s Contrada (exclusive opening. The “Contrade” is the real core of local social life. See the Museum of a ”Contrada”, as well as its Oratory. Stop at the charming historical hamlet of Monteriggioni, Then crossing the gently Chianti rolling hills, we will arrive at a cozy Winery, where taste four fantastic wines and sampling balsamic vinegar and “zero food miles” products, to end this memorable experience in the heart of Tuscany with delicious Tuscan flavors.
