We’ll begin our tour at the Basilica di Santa Croce, (outside only), taking a moment to marvel at its stunning facade and to learn about the great Italian artists, such as Michelangelo and Donatello, who are buried here. Our passionate Local Guide will lead us through the beating heart of the Old Town, passing through the monumental Piazza della Signoria. This central square features the historic Vecchio Palace, Neptune’s Fountain, a replica of Michelangelo’s David and many other Renaissance statues. All these marvels will amaze you for sure!
Last but not least, we’ll reach the Cathedral Square and explore the Duomo inside and out, taking in all the details of its amazing architecture and art, and admiring the famous Brunelleschi’s dome (outside only) – the 4th-largest dome in the world! The Gothic interior of the Duomo features several important works of art, such as The Last Judgment by Vasari and Zuccari and 44 stained glass windows by the greatest Florentine artists of their times, such as Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti and Paolo Uccello.
