This is a magnificent guided cultural experience made of interesting tales stories and anecdotes about the noble dynasty de ‘Medici, which, starting from the fifteenth century, has left indelible marks in the Tuscan capital and has become one amongst the most powerful families of Florentine and Italian history. Our tour starts at ‘Palazzo Medici Riccardi’, the first Medici residence, purchased and enlarged in 1659 by the Riccardi family. We will visit ‘Cappelle Medicee’, the Medici Chapels, located inside San Lorenzo’s Basilica, with burial monuments of Giuliano and Lorenzo de ‘Medici built by Michelangelo. We won’t miss an opportunity to walk through Via de’Medici, where the family established their first residence in 1169 and had a celebratory tower built, in the Old Market district of San Tommaso. Our half day ends with a visit to ‘Palazzo Vecchio’ and its tower, the famous ‘Torre di Arnolfo’.
