You will arrive at Roma Tiburtina. You will have about half of your day to independently explore the city as you prefer until your 3 pm tour of the Colosseum. From the inside of Roma Tiburtina, you can use your 24 hour metro pass to take the underground metro to almost any part of Rome! We recommend you start your day by taking Metro B to Termini station, switching to metro A, and getting off at the “Ottaviano San Pietro” stop. This metro stop will take you to the iconic Vatican City and St. Peter’s Basilica. Enjoy admiring the massive dome, which dominates the Roman skyline from every angle.

Then, make the most of your free time by continuing towards the heart of Rome! Walk through the most picturesque streets of the city, including a quick stop at the famous Piazza Navona, as you head to the Pantheon. This impressive Temple has been in existence for over 2000 years, since Rome was founded, and it is truly a breathtaking sight. After taking plenty of photos of the majestic Pantheon, you can easily walk to some of the other famous landmarks in Rome. Head to the nearby Trevi Fountain. As you turn around the corner, you will first notice a waterfall-like sound, and then you will be greeted by the amazing sight of the Trevi glowing within the center of the city. Weave your way to the front, and make a wish as you toss a coin into the fountain for good luck!

Then, enjoy a delicious Roman lunch in this characteristic part of the city. For a quick lunch, we recommend you taste a Roman delicacy of “pizza al tagio,” or cut pizza squares with fresh toppings. Then walk to the famous Piazza di Spagna; straight out of a movie scene, the Spanish Steps are a gorgeous sight that represents the luxury side of Rome. From here, you can easily find the Spagna Metro station and make your way to the Colosseo Metro stop – home to the famous Colosseum!
