What to Expect When Visiting Dolianova, Sardegna, Italy

Itinerary
Once arrived in Dolianova, you will meet Gabriele. The artisan will accompany you in the countryside to collect the material suitable for the creation of your basket. Gabriele will explain the differences between the various materials to be collected, the cane and the wild olive tree, explaining when it is more appropriate to cut it.
Then you will move to the place of work where Gabriele daily runs his business, handed down from father to son.
The material collected will be treated, cleaned from the buds and cut into strips of different sizes. You will learn to weave the different materials between them, from the base to the handle. Thanks to the help of the artisan, you will have built and you will take home your traditional Sardinian basket.
