Itinerary
In a traditional place and in the unique atmosphere of the Murgia countryside, immersed in the secular olive trees we will dance our typical dances: the Pizzica and the Taranta.
We will learn you the steps, the passion and the history of a dance that has become famous all over the world and now celebrated with the Festival della Taranta in Melendugno (near Lecce) , an international event.
Dancing we will retrace the true origin and rituals of this popular event. The bite of a black spider, the Tarantula, mostly during the heat summer, obliged men and women to a frantic dance to free themself from the poison and win the black shadow.
We will dance with the same frenetic passion, letting ourselves be involved in a “slow and exciting healing”.
At the end, we will be able to enjoy a restorative and relaxing moment of tasting with typical products and local wine.This experience is very suggestive. We recommend to wear comfortable clothes. No flip flops. Kid Friendly.
