Day 2: Taormina and Castelmola

Day 5:  Acireale, Aci Castello and Acitrezza

Later you will go back to the Cathedral to see the Town Hall, the Basilica of the two apostles Peter and Paul and the cathedral with its bell towers characterized by little majolica pieces. In the cathedral you can admire the sundial made by the Danish astronomer Peters and the museum. Do not forget to taste Acireale’s delights!

Day 6: Catania underground

Day 7: Etna Valle del Bove

Stop At: Mount Etna, 95030 Catania, Sicily Italy
A trip to the Etna, up to 1725m height, with a view on Valle del Bove. About this landscape Goethe wrote: “The Ultimate Etna Landscape Is Certainly A Bove Valley: Who Has Not A Thrill While Bending Down From Its Wall” Who, in front of such a particular scenery, has not tried at least once to imagine its ancient origins, lost in time? ” (Journey to Italy – 1828).

Along with the path, we will have the pleasure to observe the nature in its generous biodiversity, a mixture of original and new introduces sorts of Etna fruits. We are going to meet the seasons: while walking we will meet old beech trees, deliciously smelling aromatic herbs and variously shaped mushrooms.

To go from height 1400m to height 1600m we will take the jeep. Once there, we will go 1725m, accompanied by the nature guides. We will breathe a very thin air which will invade our lungs to the point of making our soul explode.

On the way down, we will have the chance to admire wonderful Sicilian apiaries and evenings to choose a typical home-made lunch on the Mediterranean diet a slow food tasting with local delicatessen accompanied by clementine jams, chestnut marmalades and citrus honey.
