Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day in Catania airport

Stop At: Taormina, Taormina, Province of Messina, Sicily
Upon arrival at Catania airport, the driver will wait you in according to your arrival flight details and bring you in Taormina. After placing your luggage at the hotel and a few hours of rest, we will begin the walking tour in historic center of Taormina. Your professional guide meet you in hotel for a private walking tour of the town. You will walk in the main street “Corso Umberto”, see important sights and monuments. You will also discover the small and characteristic streets of Taormina full of the smells of flowers. At the end of the walking tour, you have a dinner with traditional organic food and local wine. Day 2: Private Tour of Mount Etna with Lunch and Wine Tasting at Etna Winery

Stop At: Mount Etna, 95030 Catania, Sicily Italy
After breakfast, your friendly private English-speaking guide will bring you in the the highest active volcano in Europe. Our first stop will be in Zafferana Etnea, small charming village on Etna slope, famous with its honey, where you will taste local honey, olive oils, wines and liqueurs. Then continue to ascend Etna and see the Cyclops cave before reaching “Rifugio Sapienza” station at 1900mt where you will walk around famous Silvestri Craters.
After visiting Mt Etna, the guide will bring you to one of the best wineries on Etna slope. You will have a tour of the estate and visit the cellars, while the owner explains you all about the wine making process and the history of this family-run winery. Then you will have traditional Sicilian lunch of locally produced cheeses, salami, prosciutto, sausages, cous-cous and other. A professional sommelier will offer you 5 glasses of Sicilian Etna DOC red and white wines.

After the tour of Mount Etna your guide will bring you at one of the best Etna wineries where you will have tour of the cellar followed by lunch and wine tasting with explanations from a private sommelier.

Day 3: Private Godfather Tour with Lunch at Fish Restaurant

Stop At: Bar Vitelli, Savoca, Sicily Italy
First stop is Savoca, an unspoilt medieval town near Taormina that acted as stand-in for Corleone where Michael was hiding out during the “going to the mattresses” time. Here you will visit Bar Vitelli that looks exactly the way it did in the movie, and see the exact spot where Al Pacino informed Apollonia’s father that his name was Michael Corleone, and that “there are people who’d pay a lot of money for that information, but then your daughter would lose a father instead of gaining a husband”.
Then you will walk to an ancient church of Santa Lucia, where Michael and Apollonia were married kneeling in the doorway. Then follow the same path down the hill that the newlyweds did, and visit another old church dating back to the 13th century. Walking along the fabulous streets of Savoca, you will finish the tour at the square where there was the party later the wedding and Micheal danced with Apollonia.

Stop At: Forza d’Agro, Forza d’Agro, Province of Messina, Sicily
The tour will continue in Forza d’Agro, another stunning hilltop town with a “Godfather” connection. You will walk the abandoned streets (“Where have all men gone?” – “They’re dead from vendettas”), explore the historic square and see the pictures from the movie, visit ancient churches, see the square where young Vito Andolini (later Vito Corleone) escaped from Don Ciccio’s men hidden in a basket on a donkey’s back, and the house where was born Vito Andolini. Walk up to see the remains of a 12th century Norman castle, admire delightful panoramic view of the Ionian coastline, and get a flavor of the Sicilian pastoral lifestyle remained unchanged since the ancient times.
Then, you will have lunch at one of the best fish restaurants in Sicily where you will enjoy more than 10 traditional Sicilian fish dishes with local red and white wines, and liqueurs.

Day 4: Private Walking Tour of Siracusa and Private Boat Tour of Ortigia Island

Stop At: Isola di Ortigia, Isola di Ortigia, Syracuse, Province of Syracuse, Sicily
We leave from Taormina to arrive in Syracuse in two hours. After placing your luggage in the hotel and an hour of relaxation, we go to have lunch in a typical Sicilian restaurant. After lunch, the local licensed tour guide will take you to discover the island of Ortigia, old historic center of Syracuse, one of the most beautiful and ancient places in the world.During the 2-hour private walking tour of Ortigia you will see the Greek Apollo Temple, the Cathedral Square – world heritage site with its bright limestone buildings, the Cathedral – the most important baroque monument in Sicily, Palazzo Beneventano – in the past a site for the senate of the city, St. Lucy Church – Norman monument of 15th century dedicated to the patron saint of Syracuse. The tour then continues to Arethusa Fountain. Finshed walking tour you have a one hour of private boat tour of Island with aperitif. Free evening in scenic Siracusa.

Day 5: Noto “The baroc capital of Sicily” and Marzamemi

Stop At: Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto, Sicily Italy
After breakfast in Hotel, today will visit Noto(Unesco Heritage). At 10am meet your private licensed guide in front the hotel and move to scenic Noto, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy with a very interesting, sometimes tragic, story. You will enter the historic center of Noto through the “Royal Gate” Porta Reale, and start your private walking tour. With your guide explaining you about history, culture and lifestyle of Noto, you will see important monuments and beautiful ancient churches and other beautiful sights. At the end of the tour you will have a tradional lunch in the historic center of Noto.

After lunch in Noto, you arrive in 30 minutes in Marzamemi small and authentic village dates back to the Arab rule in Sicily of the 10th century. There you will test sicilian granita. Free evening and overnight in Siracusa.

Day 6: Ragusa: Unesco World Heritage

Stop At: Ragusa Ibla, 97100, Ragusa, Sicily Italy
After the breakstast it’s time to say goodbye to Syracuse and
start a two-hour trip to get to the city of Ragusa Then we start walking tour of Ragusa with a local guide. Ragusa is World Heritage by UNESCO “Representing the culmination and final flowering of Baroque art in Europe”. The city is divided into two towns: Ragusa Ibla (lower old town) and Ragusa Superiore (upper town). In Ibla you will discover to many baroque buildings, like the Duomo di San Giorgio, a grand church with paintings and stained-glass windows and other important monuments. At the end of the tour your guide will show you the art workshop. Here the owner will explain how the characteristic “Sicilian Carts” were once built and painted. Then lunch sicilian “Trattoria”. Free evening in Ragusa.

Day 7: The magnificent Modica with tradional sicilian lunch

Stop At: Modica, Modica, Province of Ragusa, Sicily
Today, after breakfast in Hotel, the direction is the magnificent Modica: an attractive historic town in south-eastern Sicily, one of the area’s UNESCO-listed Baroque towns. Modica is a large and busy, authentically sicilian town with a feudal identity, “the country of Modica”, from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century. In this walking easy tour with your private licensed guide you will visit a remarkable number of impressive churches, including two grand Baroque cathedrals: the Duomo di San Pietro and Duomo of San Giorgio. Modica is famous all over the world for its chocolate. During the tour you will visit the musuem of chocolate with tasting. At the end of the tour, lunch in tradional restaurant. Free evening in charming Ragusa.

During the tour you will visit the musuem of chocolate. During the visit to the museum there will also be a demonstration of how Modica chocolate was produced in ancient times. At the end of the demonstration there will be a chocolate tasting.
