The Etna excursion and wine tasting with lunch begins in an SUV or minivan (up to 8 people) with a first stop in an off-road vehicle up to the lava front of the 2002 eruption. Subsequently, crossing the Ragabo Pine Forest, we will arrive at the starting point of the trek to the Monti Sartorius craters where we will continue on foot starting from 1650m and arriving at an altitude of 1750 metres, a walk suitable for everyone. We will then explore a lava flow cave, the Grotta dei Ladroni, equipped with helmets and torches. After the excursion to Etna, we will visit a local winery where you can taste various Etna wines and a complete lunch based on Sicilian specialties. A sommelier will tell you about viticulture in Sicily, the winemaking processes and the history of the winery. You'll begin your adventure with both on-road and off-road exploration on a 4×4, visiting the impressive 2002 lava front, a testament to the volcano's power. Then, you'll traverse through the woods to reach the Sartorius craters of 1865. This tour combines the travel on an ancient and unique public service railway, the visit of a volcanic winery (wine and food tasting, visit to the vineyards and cellars). The railway public service starts either in Catania or in Riposto and always terminates in Randazzo (duration is about 2 hours). The railway is peerless, connecting the small towns surrounding Mt. Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. The view is just incomparable and scenic. In Randazzo, our guests will be driven to the close winery, for a full tour of the vineyards, cellars and a wine and food tasting (pairing of wines and Sicilian food).
