Carrara Trip Overview
A spectacular view of the Apuan Alps and a breathtaking tour. The tour includes a guided tour with a 4×4 Jeep of open pit quarries, to observe the modern machinery used today for excavation and learn the methods of extraction, but above all to relive the history of the white blocks of the most famous marble in the world. After the quarry tour, you can visit the village of Colonnata, where you can taste and buy local products in the shops that animate the small village. The tour includes a visit to an ancient Larderia with illustrations of production and storage techniques in typical marble basins. In the afternoon, we will head to Pietrasanta, the world center of artistic marble processing, but also of other artistic products, such as mosaic and metal sculptures. We will visit some art workshops and experience the thrill of witnessing the live realization of the works. The tour will continue to discover the historic center of Pietrasanta.
